The El Cid Historic District is a high-style waterfront community developed during the 1920′s Florida land boom era. Some of the area’s best architects such as Maurice Fatio, Howard Major and Harvey & Clarke designed and built homes for prominent West Palm Beach families.
The homes are predominantly large and ornate Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Mission homes, with lush landscaping and unique architectural features. Other styles like Monterey, Art Deco and Colonial Revival are also represented. This makes this Tour one of the Premier Home Tours in West Palm Beach and all of Palm Beach County.
The Historic Home Tour usually takes place rain or shine. The Tour will be held March 8, 2015, starting at 2pm at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. Each visitor will receive an official tour booklet and wristband. At each home, visitors will be greeted by the owners and volunteers who will guide and answer any questions. A cocktail reception will follow.
Whether as a host, volunteer or visitor, please support your community by putting this on your calendar … in ink.
